I already own a TEMPUR-Neck pillow. The question behind this comparison is practical: if I want something larger, is Cloud Dual Cooling a sensible replacement? I have not tested Cloud Dual Cooling, so the comparison below uses the published specifications rather than a claim about how it feels to sleep on.
The short answer: a larger surface, a different shape
Cloud Dual Cooling gives you a broader, traditionally shaped pillow. Neck gives you a shaped support surface with a raised contour. Moving between them changes more than the size of your pillowcase.
| US model | TEMPUR-Neck | TEMPUR-Cloud Dual Cooling |
|---|---|---|
| Published feel | Firm | Medium |
| Shape | Contoured | Traditional rectangular shape |
| Size choices | Small, Medium, Large; Travel is a separate compact option | Queen and King |
| Approximate dimensions | Small: 20 × 12.5 × 3.5 in; Medium: 20 × 12.5 × 4 in; Large: 20 × 12.5 × 4.75 in | Queen: 27 × 19 × 6.4 in; King: 35 × 19 × 6.4 in |
| Cooling design | The standard Neck model is not the separate Neck + Cooling version | Cooling gel on both sides |
These are the manufacturers’ approximate dimensions, not measurements we took. A new listing or a different regional model may differ. Sources: [1–3]
“Bigger” needs a little unpacking
The Queen Cloud is seven inches longer and 6.5 inches wider than the listed full-size Neck. That is useful if you want more room to move your head. Both Cloud sizes have the same published height; King primarily buys extra length.
Within the Neck range, Small, Medium and Large change the contour height rather than turning the pillow into a Queen or King rectangle. Tempur-Pedic’s sizing advice uses the distance from the neck to the outer shoulder as a starting point. [3]
Cloud’s listed 6.4-inch height is greater than the tallest published Neck profile. It does not follow that your head will sit exactly that much higher: these are unloaded dimensions, and different shapes and materials compress differently. We have not measured that difference under load.
Which change are you actually looking for?
If you like the Neck contour and only want a different support height, first compare its three full-size profiles. If you want a wider sleeping surface and a medium feel, Cloud Dual Cooling is the more relevant alternative. Cooling gel is an additional feature; it is not proof that the pillow will suit your preferred head position or stay cold all night.
There is also a naming trap. Older Tempur-Pedic material uses “Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling.” Do not assume every listing with “Breeze” in its name is the same pillow, or substitute a Breeze Pro model without comparing its exact specification. [4]
Before ordering
Check the exact model, dimensions and retailer’s return terms. The manufacturer lists pillows as non-returnable personal items; a five-year limited warranty is a different protection, not a comfort trial. [1,2] A discount is useful only after you have chosen the right format.
