iHerb: What You Actually Get and What It Costs to Order

Prices, product choice, discounts and delivery — with a closer look at ordering to Armenia.

I’ve been ordering from iHerb for years, including protein powder and other products. This guide covers what to check before ordering; it isn’t a claim that iHerb is always the cheapest option.

iHerb has been selling health and wellness products online since 1996 and now ships to more than 180 countries. For international shoppers, the appeal is simple: a broad selection and the option to order directly, without arranging a separate forwarding service where direct delivery is available.

Why order from iHerb

My starting point is the final basket price. Brands such as NOW Foods, Nordic Naturals, Doctor’s Best and Solgar are worth comparing with local shops. iHerb can be competitive, but it is not automatically the cheapest option: compare the same product, strength and pack size, then add shipping and any import charges.

California Gold Nutrition, iHerb’s own brand, is another option to compare. A lower price is useful, but it does not by itself establish quality or effectiveness. I look at the ingredients, product information and cost per serving rather than choosing by the discount alone.

The range is another reason to browse. iHerb reports more than 50,000 products from over 2,000 brands, including products that may be difficult to find locally. That makes it useful for comparing options in one place.

Storage is worth checking too. iHerb says its fulfillment centers are climate controlled. For temperature-sensitive products, including some probiotics and oils, I still check the product’s storage instructions and any shipping notes; warehouse conditions do not describe every stage of the journey.

Discounts: check the conditions

Promotions, first-order offers and Rewards credits can reduce the bill. Before paying, I check which products qualify, whether there is a minimum spend and whether the offer can be combined with another discount. A code advertised elsewhere is not a saving until the basket actually accepts it.

How shipping works

Delivery options depend on the destination, products and basket. There is no single free-shipping threshold for every country. Enter your delivery address and check the eligible carriers, minimum spend and estimated delivery dates shown at checkout.

The free-shipping minimum is calculated after discounts. A promo code can take a qualifying basket below the threshold, and not every carrier offers free shipping. I check the delivery charge again after applying a code.

Weight also matters. A few small bottles and a large protein tub can produce very different shipping options. If delivery is not free, use the actual checkout quote rather than assuming a flat fee.

Ordering to Armenia

iHerb offers direct delivery to Armenia. Its Armenia shipping page currently lists options including DHL Express, FedEx and Onex Home Delivery; the options available for your particular order are confirmed at checkout.

I would use the delivery estimate shown for the selected carrier rather than promise 7–10 business days. Flights, customs and local delivery can affect the arrival date. Check the carrier’s collection or home-delivery arrangements before confirming.

Armenia’s official guidance describes a duty-free limit of €200 and 31 kg for qualifying personal-use parcels. For a parcel within 31 kg whose assessed value exceeds €200, it describes a 15% duty on the amount above that value limit. Heavier parcels have different calculations. Customs valuation and carrier or brokerage fees can affect the final amount, so check the official guidance before a larger order.

What I check before paying

  • The same product and pack size against other buying options.
  • The total after discounts, including the selected delivery charge.
  • The delivery estimate and how the parcel will reach me.
  • Any applicable import charges, especially for a larger or heavier order.

For a small everyday order, the decision comes down to that final total and whether the products are actually useful to me. A large catalogue and a discount are a good starting point — the basket is where I decide whether the order makes sense.

Better shopping experience

The goal is not more links. It is fewer surprises before checkout.
